In the present times, corruption has become scourge of our democratic system. The biggest problem in dealing with corruption issues is demonstration of weak leadership from the top. Our honorable PM is enjoying sympathy of people by demonstrating victimization of dynasty politics and his hands are shackled in guided democracy.
It is just a parody of the world's largest democracy that a PM who is directly deriving power from the highest law book the Constitution, is finding himself as Caesar's wife.
Instead of acting responsibly, honourable Telecom and HRD Minister, Mr. Kapil Sibbal, has put a question mark on the CAG of India by demonstrating his sophistry and sibylline calculations just to hide skulduggery of his colleague.
Through this column, I just want to ask the ruling party, that who will take the responsibility for all this? Will it be our PM or the UPA Chairperson or the befooled people of India, who has given them authority to run this country!
After the disclosures of every new scam, representatives from the central government say that the PM was unaware of this, be it the flawed appointment of CVC, CWG scam, snubbing of Kargil War Heroes through Adarsh scam. Is it not shirking of the constitutional responsibilities?
Does this not send a wrong message to Indians, especially, the youth, common man, poor, deprived and ignored sections of our society that this country just runs on improvised methods and government and politicians manipulate things for their political gains because they want to rule by hook or crook?
I believe this definitely makes our youth skittish about the thought of being honest (death of RTI activists, sedition charges against Binayak Sen, ADM Sonawane's murder, no records about fleeing of Anderson, the main accused in Bhopal gas tragedy, meagre amount of punishment to the former DGP S.P.S. Rathore in the molestation of Ruchika leading to her suicide. The list is endless...).
The country demands a strong leadership from those to whom the people have given power. Sir (Mr. Prime Minister) you cannot hide your face behind the veil of your integrity because “To be quiet, closing your eyes before crime is also a dereliction of duty”.
Either our PM should resign or act as a leader otherwise it will be him (PM) and not anyone else (Ms. Sonia Gandhi or Congress General Secretary Mr. Rahul Gandhi or anybody else) responsible for the trickling down effect of more corruption, more poverty, more economic disparity, more Naxalism and different form of colonialism where rich corrupt and capitalist people of same country will rule upon the deprived masses.
As a result we will soon be seeing in our country what is going on in Sudan, Egypt, and the Arab world.

I really appreciate your article. Wants to add few points.
ReplyDelete1.India needs reform at all stages like law and order, corruption ...
2.With current situation of India's political chaos it is unthinkable about any possible reform.
3.Leaders like you and me have to come forward. Only a pure heart and great leader can bring something good like Nitish Kumar.
4.But many potential leaders are busy in job, preparing for IAS ...
5.Sometimes I get feeling about cleaning things but don't know when I'll be ready.
you have written bitter truth of our nation. But dear ,we are the people who chose them.
ReplyDeleteResignation of PM is not solution, elections are again burden on us,its time to unity and demanding of all clarification about all scams during this period???
They have to right judgement for public benefits, those are involved in scams its right time to punish them,do not save them.......
Dear Ankur, I m not very good at reading politicians, but your article seems more like a speech of an opposition leader rather than discussion on a national problem and its solution. (My thoughts are always harsh on you :P)
ReplyDeleteBut still it's important to raise your thoughts and most important try to materialize them.. since mostly we only think but never act .. you know what I am saying.. And yes I agree with you that we need stern leaders at top.
On the other hand.. if you think on following lines.. when India put congress in rule, we as people of country were never expecting Manmohan Singh to be prime minister. Rather image of congress as a whole and icon-ism of the string-puller(as you would say) Sonia.. put them into centre.
Now again on the point of corruption eradication, if you think what is the root cause of existence of corruption in a system, at the first place? Is it lack of strict leadership, absence of brutal punishment, absence of loyalty towards system, disbelief in system, human nature to not follow rules, human nature to win over contenders, or prioritise oneself over poor and weak. There are many reasons not one. We should try to build nations bottom up which means to nurture your young ones with right values. We should try to build institutions which help maintaining a healthy environment all around us.
ReplyDeleteHarish you are just naming the problem in the system and their cause. But the question is how to eradicate those problems ? As I have already mentioned that with present govt and political chaos it will be our dream to see changes in our lifetime. The only solution according to me is that we people should actively participate in govt making may be by joining our favorite party or launching a new one.
ReplyDeleteDear friends, I respect your comments.
ReplyDeleteIs it necessary to oppose a political issue in parliament only?? I think its not. Its an intentional opposition of the approach of our present government. Dear Haku, You have mentioned many problems. I am totally agreed with you but just think once for a while, why is it so? Why people are not following proper rules? Why there is lack of loyalty towards system? Why there are so much rape incidences? why there is growing naxalism? What is the problem in our bottom up approach? After pondering upon it you will find that there is frustration in masses because of economic disparity. Leaders lead by examples and masses act just as followers.
Dear,u cant expect from Late RTI activists'family members to have faith in the system. you cant expect from people who are living in below poverty line and dying by hunger and poverty, to obey the law while the wealth is concentrated in just few hands.
The need of the hour is to get a strong leadership from the top. Thats it. Why we always try to allay radical viewers and views?
Look at Bihar, Nitish Kumar has done miracles and people also gave him their support also .
My dear,Since masses are just followers so its the responsibility of a leader to move in right direction because masses had given authority in his hands only.
dear,In Bihar its Nitish Kumar, in Guzrat its Narendra Modi, not BJP nor JDU whom people have given power.
Similarly, for UPA 2, It was Dr Singh who has taken the winning trophy thats why he had given 2nd chance to be PM.
Dear Bhamini, I am not asking for resignation from PM but demanding a strong leadership and accountability. Resignation is the last option if he finds himself unable to tackle the present menace firmly, so that people have faith in the constitutional authorities like the PM of India.
It is better to bear election burden than to have daily new scam with increased figure (now ISRO alo came under scanner) till how long we should keep quite. now a days, it seems that it is a scams season and we have become so used to aboutit that if anybody try to oppose it, we start try to oppose that guy. Very sad but its the reality.
Bottom up approach is long term approach and unachievable until top bottom cleansing takes place.
By this blog, I just condemn all wrong doings fearlessly and protested in non violent manner. I have cleared my position now its your turn guys!!
Thanks.
Dear Mukesh
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with you.
